First blog entry of this year!

So, now that it's February....

In November, Judy, Cathy and I visited the Franciscan University of Stubenville, Ohio. (I doubt I spelled that right.) This was an AWESOME experience!!! Well, first we got lost in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Yeah... quite different from the small Vermont towns! So after we got out of that midnight mess, our friends were eagerly awaiting our arrival by going to this Praise and Worship called FOP on Campus. We had to look for them after we navigated the stupid parking lot. Anyway, so we really did have a lot of fun there, hanging out with freshman and watching movies and going out to applebees and so on and so forth. We even got to sit in on an exiting Church History Class while we were there. Ok, it really was interesting. We even got to swing dance a little on Sunday evening. Everything considered, I really want to go there! Unfortunately, it's 25 thousand a year and that's just not going to work for me unless I get a miracle. We went there on large part cause we wanted to visit some homesick friends. Oh well, hope I dream about it.

Next thing that I did in the last few months that's worth discussing is probably the March for Life in Montpelier, the capital. Judy made up a chant to scream out and it goes like this: "WHO ARE WE? YOUTH! WHAT ARE WE? ALIVE! WHAT DO WE STAND FOR? LIFE! Yeah, some people where shouting afterword as well but mostly from loss of hearing. When asked why they turned deaf, one would shout in a quiet room: "I was walking next to Judy!" Right...

The next weekend, we went to Washington DC for the National March for Life. That was fun as we went with lots of other Vermont people. First, after we got off the buss in the middle of the city, we had to stand in line to get into the Verizon Center where there was a Catholic Rally for Life with hundreds of thousands of people (half were teens) that were singing and having fun. It was awesome! After the Rally, we walked to the Mall/park place where we started. There was another sort of rally there where many speakers talked about pro-life issues and politics. Finally, after that, we started on the march! Well, the people in the front did. The rest of us in the middle and back were at a standstill for about and hour until we got to shuffling over the garbage left in the street and getting trampled. There were so many signs and posters being held up that it was impossible to see down the street over peoples' heads. Thankfully, it was sunny and warm compared to last last years freezing rain. We were all thankful. After a long day and night of travel, we all (the Vermont group at least) piled back on the bus for a short night of sleep till we got to our various stops where our cold cars were awaiting our return. It was about five in the morning before I was back home. Needless to say, I was REALLY sleepy.

I was at a Diocesan Youth Council meeting the other day and then it was the Deanery meeting the next day. I guess you could day I wasn't busy but that's not really the way it felt. It's not like that was the only things I was doing but those were both spiritually exhausting. Interesting...

This weekend, I am going to "Mount 2000 and Beyond" for a fun weekend. This has got to be my favorite time of the year if not the wonderful weather of spring and early summer.

Speaking of weather, cold is an understatement when it comes to recent temperatures. Because of the high cost of oil heating, my parents have switched to the less expensive option of wood and coal heating. We got a new boiler delivered late this fall and were stacking wood for several weeks when the wood was delivered soon after. I'm really out of shape...

Finally I come to my close as I am hungry for lunch. May God bless you and yours for all eternity. Blessed Mother, Pray for us. Saint Micheal the Arch Angel, Pray for us.
